AFTER a one year hiatus the annual Coolum Beach Meals on Wheels Christmas lunch BBQ was held on Tuesday, December 7 and was a way for the committee to say a resounding ‘Thank you” to their volunteers and to let their clients know just much they mean to the community group.
President Sue Green said that the day could not happen without the support of the local community.
“Both Dan Purdie MP and the Coolum Beach Hotel who gave financial contributions and Budd’s Butchers and Matt’s Farm Fresh gave us vouchers for local produce.
“We also must thank North Shore Realty for loaning us their marquee and the Surf Club for loaning us their courtesy bus and a driver to get people to the lunch.”
The lunch was attended by just under 90 people and a great time was had by all.
