When the opportunity became available to take over the old paint store on the corner of Greenoaks and Sth Coolum Road the Coolum Salvation Army relished the opportunity to open another store, which will stock furniture and also have for sale Australian made new beds.
Located just a few doors up from their clothing store, the Salvos will be officially opening their new store on Thursday June 17 with a soft opening on Monday June 14. The Thursday opening will feature a free sausage sizzle from 12.30pm along with tea and coffee and the opening will also serve as an opportunity to meet the leaders of the local Salvation Army.
Senior Store Manager Noosa/Coolum Melissa Bettenay said that the new space was a great opportunity for the community to offer second hand furniture.
“There is nowhere in Coolum where you can buy a new bed and that is now a service that we can offer and we always wanted to expand Coolum so when the space became available we really wanted the opportunity to be able to do this.”
The existing Salvos store on Greenoaks will be staying and the new store will be primarily offering furniture and bedding with the other store offering clothes, books and toys.
“This store will further give us the ability to give back to the community,” Melissa said.
“We still have to pay rent here but we will have more of an opportunity to help others through home care packages, helping at risk kids and domestic violence relocation and welfare as a direct result of our store sales.”
The salvos are always happy to receive your donations, however ask that you call the Coolum store first on 54717088 to discuss your donation.
The new store will be open Monday to Friday from 9am-4pm and Saturday from 9am-1pm.
