After a one year hiatus, the biggest family event on the Coolum calendar – the Coolum State School ‘Coolum Carnival’ is set to kick off for one big afternoon and night on Friday, October 22 and the Coolum State School community sure know how to fire up the fun factor for the Coolum Carnival!
The annual fundraiser for Coolum State School will be kicking off at 3.30 pm until fireworks just after 8.30 pm and everyone in the community is being asked to mark their calendars now and to not miss this huge and fun event.
After a COVID layoff last year, the 2021 event will be bigger than ever with fast rides, fairground attractions, great food and entertainment and is set to bring the community together all in the spirit of raising funds for the school.
Taking centre stage will be the very popular piglet racing track, with a hugely entertaining race each hour.
Principal Anthony Ryan is thrilled to see the school and the wider community get behind the carnival.
“This is an enduring social event for the town with previous students coming back in droves, friends catching up, kids having a ball and neighbours and business people getting together.
“I’m looking forward to the best fireworks, the biggest rides and you’ll find some new attractions among the sideshow favourites,” Mr Ryan said.
Popular with young and old are the animal nursery, pony rides, mini-golf, dunking machine and laughing clowns.
This year proceeds from the Carnival will go to building an exciting bike trail on the school grounds and renovating a junior playground with natural landscaping.
“We appreciate the sponsors and business people who are helping to make Coolum Carnival a success, which in turn benefits all our students.”
