Coolum Lionesses held a memorial tree planting and morning tea recently for local legend June Retchless who recently lost her battle with cancer. The women and men from the local Lions paid tribute to June by establishing a memorial garden at the Coolum Lions Community Centre to honour both June and other Coolum Lionesses who have served with dedication.
Coolum Lionesses served the local community for over 40 years and sadly in July 2021, Lioness clubs were forced to disband with the option to join Lions, which accept both male and female members. For the last 40 years, Coolum Lions has been supporting the local community and helping those less fortunate. If you would like to be part of the team, please call Lion Don Knopke on 0427 061 466.
