After a two-week delay students across Queensland state schools returned to school on Monday, February 7 and amongst them were 134 prep students at Coolum State School. The six classes of preps all started on the same day with Principal Anthony Ryan stating that the delayed start was both positive and good. “We missed the kids here and whilst we were open for essential services children and we had about 100 attending, in a big school like this it felt very empty. The good thing though is that we were really able to plan well and get things sorted for this year, and this is a massive year for us as it’s our musical year and that will be happening in September,” Mr Ryan said. Coolum State School is also happy to welcome their new Deputy Principal Dan Stanieg who previously worked at Coolum State School as a teacher many years ago.
