IT WAS an absolute cracker of a day on Sunday for the monthly ‘Sunday On The Green’ afternoon at the Coolum-Peregian RSL. The event which is held on the first Sunday of each month on the grounds of the RSL saw a huge turnout roll on up in the sunshine for the music, kids’ entertainment, food, dancing and overall good, Coolum ‘Sunday session’ vibes.
Two army Bushmasters and their crew from Caboolture were in attendance to show everyone just what the Army Reservists get up to. The 12th/16th Hunter River Lancers is an Australian Army Reserve Cavalry Regiment that was formed on May 1, 1948, and it is currently a Light Cavalry unit equipped with Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicles (PMV). The 12/16 Hunter River lances have recently assisted with the COVID19 pandemic and the floods in Lismore and Gympie.
The next big event to be held at the Coolum-Peregian RSL will be the annual Anzac Day Dawn Commemorative Service which will be on Monday, April 25. The club is anticipating the biggest turnout yet and is encouraging everyone to come to the service. The next Sunday On The Green will be Sunday, May 1 which should be a huge day with the Labour Day public holiday on May 2.
