This Saturday, May 21 Australians are being asked to head to their local polling booth and cast their vote for federal government representatives in the senate and the house of representatives. Campaigning on Tuesday morning at the early polling booth at the Coolum Peregian RSL was Labor candidate for Fairfax Sue Ferguson with Mark Jobs and Greg Smith. The seat of Fairfax is currently held by Liberal-National MP Ted O’Brien who is hoping to secure a third term in office. Fairfax is being contested by most parties including The Greens, Independents, One Nation and other minor parties. Ms Ferguson, who is a nurse, said that she was hopeful of a win on Saturday following lots of positive feedback from members of the community who were taking the time to voice their concerns with her and were happy to see a woman taking up the challenge of running for office.
