LOCAL business chamber Coolum Business and Tourism (CB&T) recently hosted their monthly ‘Local Gems’ networking morning at Coolum’s One Agency Real Estate which is arguably located in one of Coolum’s premier locations – the old ANZ building which is right on the corner of David Low Way and Birtwill St.

The morning serves as a way for local businesses to network and support each other, and the morning was also catered for by new coffee entrepreneurs ME Coffee Merchants who recently opened a café and coffee shop in the Coolum Park shopping centre.

Host and One Agency Principal Licensee Julie Evitts said the morning was a fun start to the day.

“This was a fun morning at the One Agency Coolum office who are proud to support Coolum Business and Tourism and ME Coffee supplies us all with coffee and amazing hot chocolates while the business owners mingled and had great conversations regarding local businesses,” Julie said.

Coffee for the morning was supplied by ME Coffee Merchants who have been serving up great coffee for over a month now and are located in the Coolum Park shopping centre.

CB&T President Mark Cameron said that having the Local Gems morning at One Agency was a great opportunity for the other business owners to check out the new real estate office.

“One Agency is so well located on David Low Way and this morning was a great opportunity for local business owners to get together.”

“We also have a ‘Beachside Bevvies’ event which is another social networking event for those who can’t make it to the early coffee event, and we alternate these events at local businesses who are members of CB&T,” Mark said.

The talk of the recent morning was centred around the upcoming summer season with the chamber reflecting on the recent drawcard to the region the Skyline wheel which saw 40,000 riders take to the sky above Coolum and clearly brought many new people to Coolum.

“We were really pleased to have that here and the feedback was almost all entirely positive,” Mark said.

“Over summer we will be again hosting our very successful ‘Flicks in the Park’ and we will also be hosting a Christmas Carols which will be similar to the very popular Peregian carols.”

The next CB&T networking event will be at the new Blackflag Brewing on December 1 and information about joining the business chamber can be found at www.coolumbusinessandtourism.com.au
