Coolum State School has a new principal with Shannyn Taylor taking over at the start of term three. Born and bred in Ipswich, Principal Taylor comes to Coolum from Cooroy State School and before that Brightwater. Shannyn is happy to be at Coolum, a school that she said has a very strong community and standing in the community. “I am very lucky to be the principal here and so far everyone has been so nice and welcoming. I have loved connecting with everyone and I am looking forward to the musical and the Coolum Carnival amongst other things.” When not being a school principal, Shannyn is with her husband and two sons doing what most other parents do such as going to the beach.
